Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As a correspondent, she will cover everything including NASA's recently-created Space Force to commercial space companies and space tourism. Kristin is mother of NASA astronauts, and also an avid space fan has spent her entire childhood in the industry. She worked for five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy in the Trump and Biden Administrations. In this time, she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, the impeachment trial and two attempts to prevent the pandemic coronavirus, in addition to two distinct administrations' initiatives. She also traveled extensively with the Vice President and President of the United States, including a top secret trip to Afghanistan with former President Donald Trump. Prior to joining the network in, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through the local news channels including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin utilized her knowledge behind the lens to start Field Mouse Films. The company specialized in producing documentary-style films and was a favorite of corporate clients such as Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University. Kristin is married with a daughter, and their 3-year-old daughter in Washington, D.C.
